What the buyer is asking for

The Council is seeking to procure a contractor to install a wind turbine to provide power to the VENJ Heat Network site in Jarrow, and maintain the turbine for a period of 2 years.

• This is a two-stage Competitive Flexible Procedure and therefore interested Applicants only need to complete the Procurement Specific Questionnaire (PSQ) and return the PSQ documentation by 12 noon 5 October 2026. Draft tender information is also included in order to provide further information. The documentation can be accessed at https://www.open-uk.org/,and the project reference is Project # OPEN20261980 (Installation of a wind turbine with 2 years maintenance, Jarrow). Between 5 and 7 Tenderers will be short-listed in accordance with the criteria as set out in the PSQ and outcome letters are expected to be issued to all Applicants by mid October. The finalised Tender Documents are intended to be issued to the short-listed Tenderers in early November 2026, and tender responses are intended to be returned by end November 2026. (Please note that dates are anticipated, but may be subject to change).
